Offering surgeons, dentists, and veterinarians a bright magnified view without neck, back and eye fatigue.

Thanks to the unique Pentax deflection prism, you can look straight ahead, the same as you would with a microscope – leave the bending over for a better view up to the prisms.

Say goodbye to back or neck pain, and straining your eyes whilst hunching over to get a better view of your surgical field.

Unparalleled ergonomics

Thanks to its unique optical design, Pentax loupes allow surgeons to get a magnified view of the operation field while maintaining a straight neck posture – leave the bending over for a better view up to the prisms.

Large field of view

The field of view is larger than any conventional loupe due to the overlapping prism image.

This gives you a wider, brighter ellipsoid field of view when compared to the conventional circular field Galilean loupes.

Parallel viewing at all times

Pentax deflection prism loupes allow stress-free parallel viewing.

Eye fatigue is minimised by looking straight ahead with a 0º pupil angle – the work is left up to the prisms to focus, deflect your view downwards, and rotate it towards the focal point in your surgical field.

Conventional Galilean or Keplerian loupes achieve a focal point by leaving the focusing and converging pupil angles up to your eye muscles.

Changing your view

With the prisms mounted at your central pupil distance and height, there is plenty of room for you to view the non-magnified surgical field, your team, and instrument trays without the need to remove your loupes.

Conventional Galilean or Keplerian loupes have the lens mounted at the bottom of the lens requiring you to either flip up the loupes or remove them to achieve a similar view.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer payment plans?

We sure do! Once we've checked your order, we'll email you an invoice. Osseo Group offers multiple payment methods including all major credit cards, lay-by and finance. You can learn more about our payment options HERE.

What's the best way to clean my loupes?

To get started, you'll need some cotton buds, a lens cleaning cloth, alcohol wipes, and some neutral detergent. Using an alcohol wipe, gently wipe the frame of the loupes to remove contamination and oils; you'll need to pay particular attention to the forehead area. Next, using a cotton bud and some neutral detergent, clean the nose pad to remove oil and makeup. Keeping this area clean will remove contaminants such as makeup which cause the soft, comfortable rubber to degrade, and you'll need to replace the nose pad. Once you've finished with the nose pad, using a dry cotton bud, wipe the objective and eyepiece lenses with a gentle, circular motion, using a new cotton bud for each lens. Finally, using a standard lens cleaning cloth, wipe the lenses over to remove dust, oils and fingerprints. If you find your lenses regularly fog up, you can use anti-fog wipes like Clear-it from our store. If you have any questions regarding your Pentax loupes, get in touch with your account rep or give us a call at 1300 029 383.

How long does shipping take?

As soon as we've received payment for your new loupes, they'll go into production. Production usually takes 4-8 weeks depending on global demand. Once we've received your completed loupes from Japan, your account rep will contact you to arrange a fitting appointment.

What is the warranty?

Our loupes are covered by a 12 month manufacturers warranty covering material defects and workmanship. You can read a full copy of the terms and conditions, including what's covered and what isn't (like accidental breakage, drops and water damage) by clicking HERE. If you need to make a claim, click HERE.

How do I organise a demo?

Booking a PENTAX demo is easy, you can click any of the demo links on our site or HERE or call you account rep directly.

Do you charge for repairs?

If your loupes are faulty and covered by warranty, we won't charge for the repair. If your repair is not covered by warranty, out of warranty, caused by user damage or wear and tear – we'll charge a fee to diagnose, replace parts (including their cost), test, calibrate and return your device as good as new (or as close to new as a repair can be). Non-warranty repairs start from $125.

Are they flip-up loupes?

No, they're adjustable deflection angle TTL loupes. Whilst the deflection angle hinge does allow the loupes to "flip-up", this is not the intended purpose of this feature and repeated adjustment will wear the locking mechanism. With the prisms mounted at your central pupil distance and height, there is plenty of room for you to view the non-magnified surgical field, your team, and instrument trays without the need to remove your loupes.

Can you adjust the working distance?

We can adjust the working distance, however you'll need to send the loupes back to us for this service. We'll then send your loupes back to production in Japan where they'll make the working distance adjustment, clean and recalibrate the optics. This can typically take 4-6 weeks to complete based on shipping to/from Japan and time in the workshop. Service pricing starts from $125.
