This guide outlines the necessary PC configurations to perform before and after installing Shining 3D software, requiring strict adherence to the sequential order provided. Following these steps in the specified sequence ensures software performance and successful installation.
Step 1 - Do not insert the Shining 3D USB drive before STEP 4.
Step 2 - Install all Windows updates
Open Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates. Download and install all available updates, then restart the computer.
If the windows update fails, press Win + R and type “services.msc” , locate App Readiness, right click and set it to Automatic, and click Start or OK. Then, in the same services.msc window, locate Windows Update, right click and ensure it is set to Automatic, and restart the service. Then close the window and try the windows update again.
Step 3 - Update the NVIDIA graphics driver
Confirm your graphics card model using Task Manager → Performance → GPU, or use our NSPECT system-checking tool.
Visit the official NVIDIA Driver Downloads page and select the correct product type, series and graphics card model.
Download and install the latest driver, then restart the computer.
Step 4 - Check the SHINING 3D software version on the USB stick supplied with the device or your pre-downloaded version.
Insert the USB drive and compare this with the latest compatible version listed on the official SHINING 3D Software Downloads Page.
Download and install the latest version if required.
Step 5 - Run Computer Setting Optimisation
In the SHINING 3D software, go to Settings → Scan Settings → Computer Setting Optimisation, then apply the recommended settings.
Step 6 - Test the computer settings
In the Shining 3D software, go to Settings → Scan Settings → Start Testing and confirm that the computer passes the performance test. Step 7 - Force optimal connection settings Download the Cloud Connection Tool, then run it directly from your Downloads folder. You may need to accept the Windows security warnings and approve the administrator access request (if it appears) before the tool can run.
Step 8 - Calibrate the scanner
Complete the scanner calibration process using the supplied calibration tool and follow the instructions displayed in the software.
Once these steps have been completed, it is highly unlikely you will continue to experience software installation or scanner performance issues.
If problems remain, they can usually be isolated quickly because the PC, graphics drivers, Windows installation and scanner calibration have already been verified.
