System Configuration Requirements

The computer running your scanning, design or manufacturing software is critical to the overall workflow. Using hardware that is close to the recommended specification is not good enough. For reliable performance and technical support, the computer must use an Intel processor and a compatible NVIDIA graphics card.

  • Intel Core i7 or i9 processor (Core 7 240H is not supported as it is a mobile chip)

  • 32 GB RAM minimum

  • 1 TB SSD

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 or higher (RTX xx50-series cards are not supported)

  • Windows 11 Pro

  • 15w PD USB-C


Intel processors and NVIDIA graphics cards are non-negotiable requirements. AMD processors and graphics cards are not supported and must not be treated as equivalent alternatives, regardless of their advertised specifications or benchmark performance.


Why the computer specification matters

Our software systems process large amounts of complex data in real time and depend on the processor, graphics card and memory working together reliably. Using unsupported or underpowered hardware can cause slow performance, instability, processing errors and complete case failure.


These specifications are not intended to make you spend more or force you to purchase a particular computer. Professional scanning, design and manufacturing software processes large, complex datasets and requires professional-grade computing hardware to run reliably. If you are investing in advanced dental technology, it is reasonable to expect that it will require a suitably capable computer. The correct computer protects that investment and helps prevent lost time, failed cases and avoidable support issues.


Before troubleshooting can begin, the computer must meet the minimum specification. Software cannot compensate for incompatible or underpowered hardware.

Why NVIDIA graphics are required

Our software processing is optimised for NVIDIA CUDA. AMD and Intel graphics processors are not supported, including systems that combine an Intel processor with Intel integrated graphics.


Lower-tier NVIDIA cards, including the RTX 4050 and RTX 5050, do not provide the required performance or stability. This is why we specify an NVIDIA RTX 4060 or higher, excluding all RTX xx50-series cards.


A computer advertised as having “dedicated graphics” or an “RTX graphics card” is not automatically suitable. The exact GPU model matters.


Why 32 GB RAM is the minimum

Large datasets and complex calculations consume memory quickly, particularly when working with:


  • Full-arch intraoral scans

  • Facial scans and high-resolution texture data

  • Photogrammetry and implant-position calculations

  • Multiple scans or datasets within the same case

  • High-resolution dental models

  • Large mesh alignment, stitching and optimisation

  • Complex CAD design workflows

  • Kinematic calculations for milling toolpaths and NC-file generation

  • Manufacturing simulations and collision detection

  • Simultaneous operation of scanning, design and manufacturing software


These processes may involve millions of data points and repeated calculations across the CPU, GPU and system memory. Insufficient RAM can cause slow processing, freezing, software crashes, incomplete calculations, failed file generation and complete case failure.


Insufficient RAM will cause:

  • Freezing

  • Software crashes

  • Slow or unstable processing

  • Failed scan stitching

  • Lost work

  • Complete processing failure


A minimum of 32 GB RAM provides the processing headroom required for larger cases, smoother everyday performance and future software updates.


Do not save money on the wrong computer

A computer that is “almost compatible” is not a bargain. It will waste clinical or laboratory time, create unnecessary support issues, increase the risk of remakes and may result in complete case failure.


Buy the correct computer once. Anything else is likely to cost more.

The A$1,000–A$1,500 saved upfront is insignificant compared with the cost of lost chair time, interrupted production, failed cases and eventually replacing the computer with a compatible system anyway.


Standardise your systems

Use one known, proven configuration across your clinic or laboratory wherever possible. Standardisation makes performance more predictable, simplifies training and support, and reduces the number of variables when diagnosing a problem.

Every unsupported variation introduces additional risk.
